Subi Suresh, a renowned Malayalam film actor and television anchor, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 41. She was undergoing treatment for acute liver failure at Rajagiri Hospital near Aluva and had been admitted since January 28, according to hospital authorities.

Subi Suresh was a native of Thripunitura in Ernakulam and had entered the limelight through comedy programmes on stage. She was an active participant in various stage programmes organised by the Cochin Kalabhavan troupe, and her timing and unique style of delivering dialogues helped her to enter the world of television. She was part of popular comedy programmes on various Malayalam television channels, including 'Cinemala' on Asianet, which ran for several episodes.

In addition to her work on television, Subi Suresh was also a stand-up comedian and had acted in several movies. She made her debut on the big screen in 2006 with director Rajasenan's 'Kanakasimhasanam' and went on to appear in films such as 'Drama', 'Panchavarnathatha', 'Killadi Raman', 'Thaskaralahala', and 'Happy Husbands', among others.

Her exceptional talent for coming up with creative comedy skits was recognized by her peers, with Ramesh Pisharody, who collaborated with her for various programmes for nearly two decades, paying tribute to her skills. Subi Suresh was also a popular dancer.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan offered his condolences, describing her as an artiste who had staged several programmes on stage and acted in movies. Tin Tom, an actor, said that her loss cannot be replaced as she was among the few women mimicry artistes ii n Malayalam.

Subi Suresh's death has left a void in the entertainment industry, and she will be remembered for her contributions to the field. May her soul rest in peace.
